ControlPoint, Inc. Begins Real-World Sample Collection Studies

Campbell, Calif. –  ControlPoint, Inc., an animal diagnostics company focused on developing tests that could be used by anyone, anywhere, has begun sample collection to evaluate test values for its CIRD testing.

ControlPoint CEO Paula Walker explained: “In anticipation of our launch in Europe, we have begun sample collection for our testing.  Using real-world samples collected from a diverse canine population, we will refine our algorithms and establish performance standards and protocols. We fully expect the ControlPoint testing to validate our hypotheses and allow us to move ahead with our go-to-market strategy next year.”

Formed in 2020, ControlPoint is currently developing a point-of-care test for multiple pathogens by which veterinarians can be confident in their diagnosis of CIRD. The test will be easy-to-use, fast, and will provide results for a wide range of pathogens allowing veterinarians to expand their practice, increase their margins and provide better patient care.

“We have an opportunity to ensure the lives and well-being of animals are greatly improved through the point-of-care tests we are currently developing,” added Walker. “Seeing the product tested and making refinements is the next milestone in the exciting launch process.”
